APPLICATIONS & INDUSTRIES

Fiberstone® is a high temperature ceramic–steel composite which significantly increases the lifetime of a component when used in aggressive manufacturing environments; with resultant savings on cost of replacement, maintenance and downtime.

The combination of high purity, refractory ceramic and up to 35% by weight of custom produced stainless steel fibres makes Fiberstone® a tough composite material, with good thermal shock properties, which is very resistant to impact and abrasion.

The non–wetting properties help it to resist chemical attack as well as the build up of dross and slag.

Fiberstone® is now used in an increasing number of industries where metal fails or burns; and refractory crumbles or breaks.

If you drive your
forklift into it by
accident, it will
probably not only
survive…
…you might
hardly see a
mark!

Making business sense

LESS RISK OF UNSCHEDULED SHUTDOWNS

Steel structures protected or replaced by Fiberstone® are less likely to fail catastrophically – helping avoid unplanned stops to production

IMPROVED PRODUCTIVITY

Fiberstone® protects steel structures from damage and does not require as much cleaning as refractory materials. This reduces the need for maintenance and can extend periods between stoppages.

MORE COST EFFECTIVE

The durability of Fiberstone® means it usually lasts longer than the steel or refractory it replaces; releasing more of your maintenance budget to spend elsewhere.

REDUCED ENERGY COSTS

Fiberstone® holds its shape better at temperature than metal. It will help prevent distortion of metal structures it is fitted to; reducing heat loss – with subsequent savings on energy costs.
