WHAT IS FIBERSTONE®
Fiberstone® is a high temperature ceramic–steel composite of high purity refractory ceramic and up to 35% by weight of custom produced stainless steel fibres.
There are a variety of ceramics and fibres used, with the recommended combination being dependent upon the intended application and the conditions it will be subject to.
Fiberstone® is supplied as a preformed cast shape; the design of which takes into account application conditions, internal reinforcement required and method of installation.

The perfect material
for tough,
high temperature
applications…
Advantages of Fiberstone®
TOUGHNESS
Unlike refractory, Fiberstone® can tolerate impact.
THERMAL SHOCK
Good thermal shock properties mean you can heat up and cool down Fiberstone® just like metal.
CREEP
Good creep resistance means Fiberstone® will hold its shape under constant stress.
ABRASION and WEAR
Fiberstone® provides better resistance to abrasion and wear than metal or refractory.
POROSITY
Relatively low porosity when compared to refractory material means Fiberstone® provides better resistance to chemical attack.
ELECTRICALLY NON–CONDUCTIVE
The stainless steel fibres are insulated by the ceramic matrix meaning Fiberstone® performs well in electrical applications.
THERMAL INSULATOR
The relatively low conductivity of Fiberstone® means it will protect metal structures against heat.

Up to 35% by weight of custom produced stainless steel fibres.
